Health is a presence, not just the absence of disease. It is an active process that requires constant attention to how we eat, drink, breathe, think and move. Nutritional advice and dietary planning is often needed by those with specialized needs including athletes of all levels, people with various health issues like diabetes, cholesterol problems, high blood pressure, allergies and asthma, and weight loss problems.
People who don't fit into these categories also often need help understanding what it means to eat healthfully, and how to feed their families nutritiously and conveniently.
Nutritional counseling in our office may include taking diet histories and using hair or saliva testing to assess nutrient status in order to design an effective eating and supplement plan. The goal is to design a "personal fuel mix" that optimizes health, and allows people to perform at the highest level possible.
